The
party was wonderful! The table was a little desert heavy but nobody minded.
Everyone out did them selves with their swap gifts.
Pam unfortunately
did not make it to the party and was missed. Marie and Howard and Sky and
Sky's friend made it although they were very late.
There was lots of good
conversation to be had.
Z as the hostess got to
start the swap and chose a large box and jokingly warned that the contents
better be big or the swap contributor was off her list. There were lots
of jokes about nested boxes but Z uncovered one of Dottie McMillan's wonderful
Kaleidoscopes.
I think that this year
everyone got gifts that they would appreciate. |

Although
Ellie did not get something purple she got the most beautiful carousel
horse ornaments by Lucia Hall. She said that next to purple she loved horses.
Lucia got one of Kim's
beautiful two sided bowls.
Maya got my Dragon necklace
in a hinged dragon egg.
I got one of Gail wood's
lovely cube necklaces with earrings.
Gail got Z's fused glass
pendant and earring and some Pier Voulkos earrings.
Hava got Marie's Orange
night light and was thrilled because orange was here favorite color and
it was the only Orange swap gift. Marie had made the stamp impression using
the paper texture that Hava had given her with the blue universal stamp
that Marie had demoed at Sandy Camp.
Marie got a great coral
head pendant with a beaded bezel. She said that reds were her new color.
Kelly had made a really
good imitation Jade necklace.
My Mom made a great Leopard
head necklace that Julz really appreciated.
Susan Berkowitz won the
bead strand although she was unable to be there.

| There were many more wonderful
creations and Z commented on how far the guild had come in its mastery
of the medium. We all enjoyed seeing the many works of art that Z had on
her walls. She is creating large fused glass vessels and plates. She has
moved from jewelry to big things. We enjoyed meeting her Papillion dogs, with
their lovely buttery fly like ears. Z has started a dog club for that breed
and is a part of a rescue league. We also had a great time flirting with
her birds who insisted on participating in conversations.
Well that is a short
summary of the evening. I wish that I could give you a better picture and
that you could have seen it for yourself. |
